Roll formers run pre-galvanized or pre-painted coil. A continuous galvanizing line (zinc pot, CGL) is a steel mill, not a roll-forming accessory. Pot temperature and CGL line speed live on mill OEM sheets. Use EN 10346 coating mass language.
Pre-painted Steel (PPGI / PPGL) for Roll Forming, Al Zn, Coil Coating, Metallic Coating, paint system, base metal, Metallic coat, Substrate Mechanicals, Roll Forming, base metal grade, metal grade
Cold rolled coil (CRC) for roll forming: temper (full-hard vs annealed), surface finish, thickness tolerance, and crack/load risks on shared flowers.
Hot rolled coil (HRC) for roll forming: mill scale vs pickle & oil, thickness/crown, mechanical windows, and setup differences vs CRC.
Carbon steel for roll forming: mild/structural/HSLA grade families, ASTM A1008/A1018 hooks, strength–formability trade-off, and coated carbon substrates.
r-value (Lankford coefficient / plastic strain ratio): r0, r45, r90, r-bar, planar anisotropy (delta-r), deep drawability, ASTM E517 / ISO 10113, and roll-forming relevance.
n-value (strain-hardening exponent): Hollomon law, ASTM E646 / ISO 10275, 10–20% strain range, FLC link, and relevance to roll forming vs stretch forming.
