Factory Audit: How ZTRFM Verifies Supplier Quality

Factory Audit is a service ZTRFM provides to buyers who want independent verification of a supplier's production capacity, quality control, and compliance before placing a large order. Instead of relying on product photos or marketing claims, buyers can request an on-site inspection conducted by qualified auditors.

Why Request a Factory Audit?

When you are sourcing industrial equipment — roll formers, coil processing lines, metal profile machinery — the stakes are high. A machine that does not meet specifications can cost you months of production time and significant money. A factory audit gives you a clear picture of whether a supplier can actually deliver what they promise, before you commit.

What the Audit Covers

Our auditors visit the supplier's facility and assess six areas:

1. Production scale and capacity — Workshop size, number of production lines, monthly output, lead times, and current order volume.
2. Equipment condition — Age and maintenance status of key machinery, calibration records, and whether the equipment matches what the supplier claims in their listings.
3. Quality control system — Incoming material inspection, in-process quality checks, final product testing, and whether QC procedures are documented and followed.
4. Certifications and compliance — Business license validity, ISO certifications, industry-specific qualifications, and regulatory compliance records.
5. Workforce and safety — Number of technical staff, engineer qualifications, workplace safety standards, and 6S workshop management implementation.
6. Financial standing — Basic financial health indicators and market credit records.

How It Works

Step 1: Submit a request. From the supplier's storefront page, click "Request Factory Audit." Specify which products or production lines you want inspected and any particular concerns you have.

Step 2: Scheduling. ZTRFM coordinates with the supplier to schedule the on-site visit, typically within 5–10 business days of the request.

Step 3: On-site inspection. An auditor visits the factory, conducts the inspection based on the six areas above, takes photos, and collects supporting documents.

Step 4: Audit report. Within 3–5 business days after the visit, you receive a structured report covering all six areas, with photos, findings, and an overall assessment. The report also flags any areas of concern or non-compliance.

Audit reports are valid for 12 months. After that, a new audit is required to maintain the "Audited" status.

Does the supplier see the audit report?
The buyer who requested the audit receives the full report. The supplier receives a summary with any action items they need to address.
