    1. Definition

Coil processing projects use three different equipment classes that buyers often mix up:

    • Slitting line — longitudinal rotary knives cut a master coil into multiple narrower strips that are rewound as strip coils
    • Cut-to-length (CTL) line — strip is leveled and sheared crosswise into flat sheets at set length, then stacked / discharged
    • Combined slit/CTL (ZHJ class) — one integrated host that can slit/recoil or cut sheets; describe it as combined, never as two fictional separate lines

Industry comparison matrices make the same cut: slitting = width / strip coils; CTL = length / flat sheets; combined lines exist when both formats share one footprint. Cover titles that say “slitting and cut to length” are not enough — classify by the evidenced process chain.

    2. Process and applications

    Equipment classMain outputTypical process idea
Slitting lineMultiple narrow coilsUncoil → (level as configured) → rotary slit → edge trim → recoil
    Cut-to-length lineLeveled flat sheetsUncoil → level → shear → stack / discharge
Combined slit/CTL (ZHJ)Strip/recoil OR sheets on one hostUncoil → level / slit / shear integrated → recoil or sheet exit

Applications. Slitting feeds roll forming, tube, and coil-fed stamping. CTL feeds fabrication, laser blanks, and sheet stock. Combined ZHJ suits plants that need both modes without two full footprints.

    3. Reference parameters (examples — keep classes separate)

    3.1 Slitting examples

TierThickness × widthSpeed / power notes
Simple hydraulic slitterAbout 0.38–0.8 mm × about 500–1380 mmAbout 0–40 m/min; about 12 strips; slitter main about 15 kW; recoiler about 30 kW; coil about 10 t
    ZJX-1.5×1250About 0.3–1.5 mm × about 800–1250 mmAbout 20 m/min; about 10 strips; slitter about 37 kW; recoiler about 90 kW; coil about 15 t
    ZJX high-speed 3×1600About 0.3–3 mm × about 500–1600 mmAbout 0–80 m/min; installed about 250 kW class; knife shaft about φ220

    3.2 CTL example (simple flat)

    ItemDocumented reference
Thickness / widthPoint values on that quote: thickness 3 mm; width 1500 mm (do not invent a band)
Speed / powerAbout 0–15 m/min; leveler main about 7.5 kW; hydraulic about 5.5 kW; Delta PLC

    3.3 Combined ZHJ×1300 example

    ItemDocumented reference
Thickness / widthAbout 0.5–3 mm; width about 1300 mm (model strings may conflict — contract decides)
Speed / strips / powerSpeed ≤ about 25 m/min; strips ≤ about 8; total motors about 70 kW; hydraulic about 7.5 kW; knife shaft about φ150

    4. Boundaries and conflicts

    • Calling every slitter a CTL line — Wrong output. Strip coils ≠ flat sheets.
    • Splitting one ZHJ combined host into two public “lines” — Forbidden. Keep one combined description.
    • Copying ZJX ~250 kW onto a simple CTL ~11 kW-class inquiry — Forbidden.
    • Cover title “slitting and cut to length” on a slit-and-recoil-only quote — Classify by process chain, not cover wording (see ZJX-1.5×1250 caution).
    • Auxiliary slit blades on a simple CTL — Not equal to a full slitting-line rating.

    5. Buyer FAQ

How do I choose among the three classes?

Strip coils only → slitting. Flat sheets only → CTL. Both modes on one footprint → ZHJ combined. Start from output format, then lock thickness, width, coil weight, and speed on the named proposal.

Is a combined line the same as owning a slitter plus a CTL?

No. It is one integrated host with mode capability. Do not describe it as two separate lines in public copy.

Can I use high-speed slitter power on a simple CTL quote?

No. Keep class parameters side by side; never average or cross-fill.

Why do some slitter covers mention cut-to-length?

Marketing wording. If the evidenced chain is only slit-and-recoil, it remains a slitting line for classification.

Final ratings follow the confirmed technical proposal. Price and lead time are out of scope.
