Rack Upright and Beam Roll Forming Machines

    1August 28, 2026
Warehouse rack upright and beam lines are different machines. Upright option1/option2/Bangladesh/supermarket each have their own speed and kW. Box/closing beam is two stages, not one motor.
Keywords: rack upright machine · warehouse rack beam · supermarket beam roll forming · pallet rack column

    1. Upright is not beam

Pallet-rack and supermarket steel frames need uprights (columns), beams, braces and often shelves. “Rack upright machine,” “warehouse rack beam,” “supermarket beam” and “pallet rack column” searches land on one inquiry, but the roll path, stand count, thickness and power are not interchangeable.

These are different machines: upright ≠ beam ≠ brace ≠ shelf/pallet. A punch die kit alone is not a full line.

    2. Upright option1 (named quotation)

    ItemOn option1 quotation
    Speed0–10 m/min
    Form power~22 kW dual Siemens
    Hydraulic~5.5 kW
    Total package~40 kW
    Stands / shaft~16 stands, φ70
    Mass~17 t
Thickness (on that quote)Written 3 mm
Drive / lube / PLCGear + drip oil; Delta PLC

    3. Upright variants — label them

Other upright quotations exist. They are variants, not corrections to option1:

    VariantDocumented numbers
    Option20–6 m/min; host ~15 kW; chain drive
    Bangladesh0–14 m/min; thickness 1.5–2.3 mm
    Supermarket upright speed class5–10 m/min

These variants are not one “typical upright” — option1 gear/22 kW is not option2 chain/15 kW.

    4. C-beam line

    ItemOn that beam quotation
    Speed0–12 m/min
    C-beam host~11 kW
    Hydraulic~4 kW
    Total~15 kW
    Stands / shaft~14 stands, φ70
    Mass~6.4 t
    Thickness~2 mm
    Section example50/100 × 45/50
    Drive / PLCChain + Delta

This C-beam host is not the upright option1 dual-Siemens package and not the box/closing second stage below.

    5. Box / closing beam — two stages

Closed or box beams are documented as a C stage then a closing stage, not as one motor on one mill:

    StageSpeed bandPower on that documentation
    C stage4–12 m/minHost 15 kW; hyd 5.5 kW
    Closing stage4–8 m/minAnother ~11 kW

Quote both stages — there is no single “box beam host kW” without naming the stage.

    6. What is not on this page

    • Brace lines — separate from upright and beam.
    • Shelf / pallet panel lines — not upright or beam mills.
    • Punch die kit alone — tooling is not a full roll-forming line.
    • Upright option1 numbers do not transfer to a C-beam or closing stage.

    7. Send column and beam as separate drawings

    1. Upright section, thickness and hole pattern — say which variant class (option1 / option2 / Bangladesh / supermarket)
    2. Beam type: open C vs box/closing; section (e.g. 50/100 × 45/50 class)
    3. Whether brace or shelf lines are also required
    4. Speed target inside the labeled bands — each band stands alone
    5. Drive preference only when it matches a named variant (gear vs chain)
    6. PLC / brand preferences if they must match an existing plant standard

    8. Buyer FAQ

Can one mill make uprights and beams by changing rolls?

Not as a default catalogue claim. Upright and beam are different lines with different stands, thickness and power packages on the quotations above.

    Is option2 just a cheaper option1?

They are labeled variants: option2 is 0–6 m/min, host ~15 kW, chain — not the option1 0–10 / ~22 kW dual Siemens / gear package.

What is the motor size of a box beam line?

Two stages: C host 15 kW + hyd 5.5, then closing another ~11 kW — not one motor.

Is a punch die set enough to start production?

No. A punch die kit alone is not a full line.

kW, stands, shaft, mass, speed and thickness above come from option1 upright, named upright variants, C-beam and box/closing stage quotations.
