This page maps the PU-edge configuration for continuous rockwool-core sandwich panels: metal skins are formed, rockwool is conveyed and adhesive-bonded to the faces, polyurethane is foamed into the side gaps for edge sealing, then the stack is roller-laminated and tracking-sawn. It is not full-thickness continuous PU core foaming, and it is not the simpler EPS/rockwool glue-only plant.
Industry continuous rockwool plants may add rockwool slit, 90° turn for fiber orientation, and edge milling before glue — automation level follows the named BOM. Public PU-edge workflow articles describe inject-at-side-gap + laminate + cure as market context; keep density and power on the documented baselines below.
Low-pressure edge foam (density about 45±5 kg/m³ class on the CN technical sheet; foam pressure max about 0.3 kg/cm² wording) fills side gaps so rockwool fibers are sealed against moisture and air leak. Face bonding remains adhesive spray. This is not the same as filling the entire panel thickness with continuous PU foam.
| Checkpoint | Recommended CN PU-edge reference |
|---|---|
| Normal / design speed | Normal about 3–5 m/min; design max about 8 m/min |
| Whole-line power magnitude | About 90 kW (unit motors also listed separately) |
| Face / core / width / length | Color steel ~0.4–0.6 mm; core ~50–100 mm; effective width ~1000 mm; length ~3000–15000 mm |
| Coil | Max ~5 t; width max ~1250 mm; ID ~ø508 |
| Footprint / height | Min about 80×10 m class; operating height ~1200 mm from floor |
No. Open the PU continuous equipment and speed-tier pages for foam-core figures. This configuration’s normal band is about 3–5 m/min with whole-line power around 90 kW — different core and BOM.
No. Edge foam seals the rockwool sides. The core remains mineral wool bonded with adhesive. Full-core chemical foam is a different process family.
Glue configuration typically hand-feeds boards and bonds with adhesive/heat only, then flying-saws. This PU-edge flow adds continuous rockwool handling and side-seal foam before roller laminate and tracking cut.
Treat each unit line on the BOM separately. Still two process families in the encyclopedia — do not invent one merged speed/power table.
