    1. Why one “keel machine” label fails

Drywall and ceiling projects often need several light-gauge lines on one site: partition studs, tracks, T-grid, furring, villa frames, and plaster angle beads.

They can serve the same building, but process steps and ratings must not be mixed. Start from the finished profile — not from a generic “keel” keyword.

Buyers who ask for one “keel machine” usually mean one of the seven families below. Clarifying early avoids wrong tooling, wrong thickness, and wrong punch maps on the proposal.

    2. Family map

Use this map as a routing table only. Speed, kW, and punch details live on each family’s own encyclopedia page and proposal.

Partition jobs often pair C studs with U tracks; suspended ceilings often pair Main/Cross T with wall angle — still separate from plaster net bead or villa frames.

    3. Mixing rules

    • Send the finished profile drawing first — not only “keel machine”
    • Never paste villa punch maps or thickness onto drywall C quotes
    • Never paste structural purlin/channel kW onto light-gauge packages
    • Ceiling wall angle in a T-grid kit is not plaster net angle bead
    • Speed and power differ widely — do not copy high-speed furring or villa figures onto a standard stud line

When in doubt, open the dedicated family page and copy only that family’s documented band.

    4. Inquiry checklist

    • Which families are actually required (stud, track, T, furring, villa, bead)
    • Finished drawings for each profile — not only a verbal “keel” label
    • Combined mill vs separate lines for C + U (changeover plan)
    • Thickness / hardness band per family
    • Whether structural purlin equipment is also in scope (keep separate)
    • Whether ceiling wall-angle in a T-grid kit is confused with plaster net bead
    • Whether high-speed furring or villa figures were wrongly pasted onto a stud RFQ

A single building project may need three or more families. List them as separate line items on the RFQ so proposals stay comparable. Do not merge families into one parameter sheet.

    5. Buyer FAQ

Can one machine make everything in the table?

No. Buy the family that matches the drawing, or a documented combined package (e.g. CU, or Main+Cross+wall-angle set).

Is furring the same as ceiling T-grid?

No. T-grid makes Main/Cross T bars; furring/hat makes secondary channels — different tooling and parameters.

Why not copy villa numbers onto a drywall stud quote?

Villa frames use thicker strip and multi-station assembly punching. Drywall C50/75/100 packages are a different thickness and punch tier.

Does a partition project always need both C and U?

Often yes for gypsum partitions. Confirm whether one CU combined mill or two dedicated lines fits the changeover plan.

Boundary map only. Final ratings follow each family’s proposal. Commercial quotes and lead time are out of scope.
