    1. Highway rail, not fence panel

    A W-beam (two-wave) or Thrie-beam (three-wave) guardrail mill forms highway crash-barrier sections with punch and cut for post holes and length. Search traffic often mixes this with fence-panel roll forming and with punch-only auxiliary lines. The flower, stand count and host class are different.

    2. Two-wave vs three-wave

    2-wave ≠ 3-wave. Wave count changes the section depth, stand count and often host power. Do not treat Thrie as a W2 recipe with an extra pass. If the tender allows either profile, ask for two labeled quotations or a documented swap-module package — not a verbal “same mill.”

    W3 is longer and slightly heavier than W2 on those quotations, with more stands and a larger host. Speed class and hyd ~18.5 kW align with the W2 recommended row; every number above is tied to its own wave count.

    5. Thickness — confirm on contract drawing

    Source documents conflict on thickness bands (examples: 2.5–3 / 2.5–4 / 3–4 mm). No single band is published here — gauge, yield and coating are locked on the contract drawing and the named quotation.

    6. Optional downstream packages

    Optional packages that appear beside the host (quote separately):

    • Bending
    • End forming
    • Repair
    • Stacker

    These are not implied by buying the W2 or W3 former alone.

    7. What this mill is not

    9. Buyer FAQ

    Can one mill make both two-wave and three-wave?

    Dedicated W2 and W3 are different quotes (~16 vs ~20 stands; ~30 vs ~45 kW host on recommended rows). A swap-module mill is a separate quotation — do not assume it from a W2 host order.

    Why is thickness not listed as a single range?

    Documents conflict (2.5–3 / 2.5–4 / 3–4). Thickness stays on the contract drawing.

    Is speed the same for W2 and W3?

    On the recommended quotes, both sit in the ~15 m/min form / ~10 m/min with punch-cut class. Host and stands still differ.

    Is a fence panel machine close enough?

    No. Fence panel and punch-only aux lines are out of this family.
