    1. How to read speed

Listed speed depends on what the note includes. A pure forming figure is not the same as a production figure that already accounts for hydraulic punching and cut-to-length. Always ask: forming only, or punch + shear included?

    2. Reference tiers

    SchemeSpeed guidance
    Dedicated W2 / W3Forming about 15 m/min; with punch and shear about 10 m/min
    Hoist-change dualOften about 5–10 m/min including punch/shear
Other scheme docsMay cite different bands — label the source proposal

Market pages may advertise wider bands (e.g. 8–25 or 10–20 m/min) — industry context only; commercial answers stay on the named scheme above.

    3. Source conflicts

    • Pack docs may also show bands such as about 8–20 m/min or about 8–12 m/min on alternate schemes
    • Those alternate bands must not be merged into the dedicated gearbox 15/10 reference without labeling
    • Drive/shear changes (chain, front shear) can invalidate a direct 15/10 comparison

    4. What to ask on the RFQ

    • Is the quoted speed forming-only or with punch + shear?
    • Which host: dedicated W2, dedicated W3, or hoist-change dual?
    • Which drive/shear package does the speed belong to?

    5. Inquiry checklist

    • Target beam length and hole pattern (affects punch/shear cycle)
    • Named host and drive/shear package
    • Two labeled figures if both forming-only and production speeds are discussed
    • Do not compare dual 5–10 to dedicated 15 without cycle labels

    6. Buyer FAQ

    Can I compare hoist-change 5–10 to dedicated 15?

No — different host proposals and cycle definitions. Dual guidance already tends to include punch/shear; dedicated 15 is forming-only on the reference package.

    Is 10 m/min “slower than advertised 15”?

Usually no contradiction — 15 is forming reference; 10 includes punch and shear on the same dedicated package.

Why do some brochures show 8–20 m/min?

Alternate scheme docs and market pages use wider bands. Keep them labeled; do not average into one invented public speed.

Does thickness change the published speed?

Heavier coil and harder grades load the cycle. Thickness bands conflict across sheets — lock both thickness and speed on the same proposal.

Final speed follows the confirmed proposal. Commercial quotes and lead time are out of scope.
