    1. Definition

In the shear/folder pack, a folder (press brake) and a guillotine / swing-beam shear are standalone sheet-metal machines, not stations of one roll-forming line. The folder bends with punch and die; the shear cuts straight blanks with opposing blades. Industry fab guides use the same one-line distinction: brake bends, shear cuts.

Buyers often inquire as a pair for a workshop. Still answer tonnage/bed for the folder and cut capacity/blade gap for the shear — never one combined “line speed.”

    2. What each machine does

Folder / press brakeBend angles, channels, flangesNominal force, bed length, throat, stroke, CNCNot coil-to-profile roll forming
Shear (swing beam / guillotine class)Straight cut to width/lengthMax MS/SS thickness, cutting length, strokes/min, blade gapNot a CTL cut-to-length coil line
    • Workshop blanking + bending for flashings, brackets, and general fab
    • Often paired on the same RFQ; parameters remain machine-specific

    3. Pack reference machines (do not merge)

Also see the smaller 63T×3200 folder class — different force / table / motor; do not merge with 200T×4000.

    4. Boundaries

    • Neither machine is a roll-forming host or a coil CTL line
    • Do not publish folder tonnage as shear capacity
    • Do not invent a forming-line m/min for either standalone
    • Industry “guillotine vs swing beam” nuance: this pack’s shear FAQ is hydraulic swing-beam NC — still a cutting machine, not a brake

    5. Inquiry checklist

    • Folder: force class, bed length, NC level, tooling
    • Shear: MS/SS thickness, cut length, SPM, blade gap
    • Confirm whether both machines are required on the same RFQ
    • Do not ask for a shared “line speed”

    6. Buyer FAQ

Can one machine replace the other?

No. Cutting blanks does not create bend angles; bending does not square-cut large sheets efficiently.

    Why do RFQs bundle them?

Workshop workflow: shear blanks → brake forms. Bundling is commercial convenience, not a shared parameter set.

Is this the cut-off on a roof roll former?

No. Roof-line hydraulic shears are part of a forming host. These pack machines are freestanding fab tools.

Same as the 63T×3200 folder page?

No. 200T×4000 and 63T×3200 are different force / table classes — keep tables separate.

Ratings follow the confirmed technical proposal. Commercial quotes and lead time are out of scope.
