2. What ACI is

Egypt’s Advance Cargo Information mechanism requires shipment data to be registered before goods arrive, so customs can run risk assessment ahead of arrival. Public official guidance describes ACI as a customs procedure that needs cargo data / documents (for example pro-forma invoice and draft bill of lading when available) sufficiently early before shipment from the export country.

In practice, exporters encounter three names together:

3. Who does what

Foreign exporters generally do not replace the importer’s NAFEZA registration. They need a valid ACID tied to the shipment before completing their ACI filing.

4. Exporter working path (overview)

1. Share accurate company registration / VAT details with the Egyptian buyer so they can create the ACI request
2. Wait for the importer to obtain and send the ACID number
3. Complete company registration and mandatory verification on the authorized exporter gateway (CargoX is the widely cited gateway integrated with NAFEZA)
4. Show the ACID on invoice, packing list, bill of lading / air waybill, and other required documents
5. Upload the required documents in the required formats before the applicable deadline

Official NAFEZA material emphasizes early data submission (commonly referenced as at least about 48 hours before sea cargo ships from the export country). Air-freight ACI rules have been expanding on a separate calendar — always re-check the current NAFEZA / CargoX notices; do not treat a chat answer as a guarantee.
