Roof & Wall Purlin System Solution

Secondary steel for roofs and walls is a section family first: dedicated C, dedicated Z, C/Z interchange, hat, CUZ, or a hydraulic punch/cut package on a C/Z host. The example below is automatic C/Z interchange. Sigma and cold-formed I send the drawing for a custom file.

    automatic C/Z interchange (example below)dedicated C (~15 kW, 14 stands, Φ80, form ~0–18 / with punch-cut ~0–12 m/min on that quotation) or dedicated Z (Automatic ~18.5 kW, 17 stands on that quotation; another Z quotation lists ~15 kW)photovoltaic hat (24 passes Φ70, 22+5.5 kW, 380 V / 60 Hz, servo tracking shear on that quotation)220 V / 60 Hz / 1φ; 12/10 stands; 5.5+5.5 kW each on that quotation

    Who it's for

PEB plants and purlin shops that need C and Z in one year, or a dedicated hat / CUZ host, and want punch and cut called out as hydraulic packages. The main drive on the interchange example is the servo.

    Mix

    Start from the year-one mix

How often you switch C vs Z decides dedicated vs interchange.

    Hat

Hat is a solar / strut host

24-pass PV hat and compact twin hat+U are two quotations.

    Hydraulics

    Punch and cut are packages

On the interchange example the punch/cut motor is 15 kW; the servo is 42 kW.

    How to choose a line

    1. Both C and Z, size change on the HMI -> automatic C/Z interchange (example below)
    2. C only or Z only -> dedicated C (~15 kW, 14 stands, Φ80, form ~0–18 / with punch-cut ~0–12 m/min on that quotation) or dedicated Z (Automatic ~18.5 kW, 17 stands on that quotation; another Z quotation lists ~15 kW)
    3. PV hat channel, 24-pass mill -> photovoltaic hat (24 passes Φ70, 22+5.5 kW, 380 V / 60 Hz, servo tracking shear on that quotation)
    4. Compact twin hat + U, single-phase plant -> 220 V / 60 Hz / 1φ; 12/10 stands; 5.5+5.5 kW each on that quotation
    5. Sigma web or cold-formed I -> send the PDF. Sigma guide language is 18–22 stands and 1.0–2.5 mm; no named kW is published for that drawing. Hot-rolled I-beam is mill steel, not this family
    6. Light-gauge stud and track -> keel / LGS solution, a different host

    What's included

Year-one mix, one interchange example, hat and CUZ as matching rows, hydraulic punch/cut as a package, and a quote checklist. Sigma and I wait for the drawing.

What to send for a quote

    1. Year-one mix: %C vs %Z vs hat vs CUZ, and how often you change over
    2. Profile drawings (web / flange / lip) plus hole map
    3. Coil: thickness window, yield, GI vs HR, max strip width
    4. Site voltage / frequency / phase (example interchange 380 V / 50 Hz; compact hat is 220 V / 1φ)
    5. Pre-cut vs post-cut; punch before or after forming
    6. Decoiler class and outfeed (table vs stacker)
    7. If the drawing is sigma or I: send the PDF rather than a C/Z size

    Check before you quote

    kW

Servo and punch are two motors

On the interchange example 42 kW is the servo; 15 kW is punch/cut.

    Hat

    Two hat hosts

    24-pass PV hat (380 V / 60 Hz) and compact twin hat+U (220 V / 1φ) are different quotations.

    I

    Hot-rolled I is mill steel

A cold-formed I drawing can be quoted from PDF; a rolled I-beam is another mill.

    FAQ

Is “hydraulic purlin” a different mill?

On C/Z hosts, hydraulic usually means the punch and cut packages. The main drive on the interchange example is the 42 kW servo.

Can I put dedicated C speed on the interchange mill?

Each quotation carries its own speed and kW. Dedicated C, dedicated Z and interchange stay on their quotations.

How are price and lead time quoted?

Send the quote checklist. Commercial terms come back on the offer.
