    Metal Sheet Processing Solution

    Blanking and cut-off around a roll former is a shear class: flying (tracking) shear, swing shear, or leveller-plus-shear. Folding long flashings is a folder. Melt, hot strip and CGL are steel-mill equipment. The example below is a flying shear on a delivered order.

    Who it's for

    Roll-forming plants that cut on the fly, blank wide sheet, or level then shear — and shops that fold flashings. Integrated steelworks searches go to mill OEMs.

    On the fly

    Flying shear tracks the strip

    Servo 3.8 kW and about 25–30 m/min on that order.

    Wide blank

    Swing shear is a width machine

    4×4000 class: 7.5 kW, SS ≤2 / CS ≤4 mm, 4.1 m width.

    Level

    15-roll pairs with 30 T

    45 kW leveller, 3–6 × 2000, 415 V / 50 Hz. The cone-head on that quotation is 30 T; the 10 t hydraulic decoiler is a different infeed package.

    How to choose a line

    1. Cut-to-length on a moving strip, mill speed class 25–30 m/min -> flying shear (example below)
    2. Wide blank, stop or swing cut -> 4×4000 swing shear (7.5 kW; SS ≤2 / CS ≤4; width 4.1 m)
    3. Level then shear medium plate -> 15-roll Ø115, 45 kW, 3–6 × 2000, 415 V / 50 Hz, with 30 T cone-head decoiler
    4. Heavy CTL 5 × 1600 -> 25 T dual-head, 132 kW DC leveller, ≤50 m/min on that quotation
    5. Long flashing / custom gutter fold -> 8 m CNC folder (wide-format / rainwater solutions)
    6. Melt shop, hot strip, galvanizing pot (CGL) -> steel-mill OEM. Coating language on formed GI follows EN 10346 on the coil you buy
    7. Profile forming (roof, purlin, fence) -> the matching product solution; this page is cut / level / fold around the mill

    What's included

    Shear-class choice, one flying-shear example, swing / 15-roll / heavy CTL and folder as matching rows, steel mill routed out, and a quote checklist.

    What to send for a quote

    1. Flying vs swing vs leveller+shear vs folder
    2. Strip width, thickness, yield (SS vs CS on the swing-shear file)
    3. Line speed of the mill the shear must follow
    4. Decoiler class (30 T with the 15-roll file; 25 T dual-head with 5×1600)
    5. Site voltage (example flying shear 220 V / 60 Hz; 15-roll 415 V / 50 Hz)
    6. Whether cut is on the mill or a stand-alone CTL
    7. If the search is steel manufacturing / CGL: send melt and pot questions to that mill OEM

    Check before you quote

    Pairing

    15-roll with 30 T

    That leveller quotation lists a 30 T cone-head. The 10 t hydraulic decoiler is a different infeed package.

    kW

    3.8, 7.5, 45 and 132 stay apart

    Flying servo, swing shear, 15-roll and heavy DC leveller are four files.

    Mill

    CGL is a steelworks line

    Galvanizing-pot questions belong to mill OEMs. Formed GI coating follows the coil standard you buy.

    FAQ

    Is a shearing machine the same as a folding machine?

    Shears cut length or blanks. Folders bend long flashings. Flying, swing and leveller+shear are three cut classes.

    Do you quote a steel manufacturing mill here?

    This page quotes cut, level and fold around roll forming. Melt, hot strip and CGL go to steel-mill OEMs.

    How are price and lead time quoted?

    Send the quote checklist. Commercial terms come back on the offer.
