The Zhongtuo PLC Engine-Driven Split Set Friction Rock Bolt Roll Forming Machine is an automatic production line for forming open-seam friction rock bolts (Split Set anchors) from steel strip at 25 m/min. The machine rolls flat steel strip progressively through multiple forming stations — progressively bending it into a longitudinally open circular tube with a flared bearing-plate end — and cuts each bolt to the specified length (800–6000 mm adjustable). Output pipe diameter is 30–50 mm, adjustable to suit standard mining Split Set sizes (SS33, SS39, SS46 and SS52).

The machine is built on a rigid grey-painted box-section base with a blue-painted forming bed and yellow accent trim. Individual yellow worm-gearbox units drive each forming station; a 30 kW motor powers the line via PLC control and a hydraulic pump unit. The entire machine measures 12,000 × 1,280 × 1,900 mm and weighs 5,500 kg. Machine Structure

Steel strip is fed from a decoiler into the infeed guide, then passes through a sequence of blue-painted forming stations each driven by an individual yellow worm gearbox. The first group of stations bend the flat strip progressively into an open C-shape and then a closed circle, while the later stations size and calibrate the pipe diameter and close the longitudinal seam gap to the Split Set specification. At the exit end, a hydraulic unit forms the flared bearing-plate collar and a flying cut-off shears the bolt to the programmed length. Finished bolts exit onto a receiving cradle.

Product & Applications

Split Set friction rock bolts are passive rock reinforcement anchors used in underground hard-rock mining, tunnel construction and civil excavation. The open-seam tube is driven into a pre-drilled hole slightly smaller than the bolt diameter; the elastic compression of the split tube generates friction along the full borehole length, providing immediate active load transfer without grout or resin. The flared bearing-plate end retains the wire-mesh or strap panel against the rock face. Common applications include gold, copper and iron ore mine roadways, tunnels, underground car parks and cut-and-fill stopes.
