The Combination Slitting and Cut to Length Line is an integrated coil processing solution designed for manufacturers that need to divide wide metal coils into narrower strips and produce sheets with precise fixed lengths. By combining coil slitting, leveling, and cut-to-length operations in one production system, the line helps reduce material handling, improve workflow efficiency, and maintain consistent processing accuracy.
The equipment is suitable for processing carbon steel, galvanized steel, stainless steel, and other metal coils, depending on the configured machine parameters. For customers requiring continuous coil processing with multiple finished widths and lengths, this combined system provides a practical and flexible production solution.

A major advantage of the combined line is its continuous processing layout. The material moves through the production line from coil loading and decoiling to leveling, slitting, straightening, fixed-length cutting, and finished material handling.
The standard process can include:
Coil Loading → Hydraulic Decoiling → Pinching & Pre-Leveling → Head Cutting → Side Guiding → Slitting → Scrap Winding → Straightening → Fixed-Length Cutting → Receiving → Loop → Tensioning → Recoiling

This integrated configuration reduces unnecessary material transfers between separate machines and provides a more organized production process.
The hydraulic entry coil car is designed to transport heavy steel coils from the loading position to the decoiler. The supplied configuration supports coils up to 30 tons, helping operators handle large coils more safely and efficiently.
The hydraulic double-head decoiler uses a taper-shaped design and supports coil inner diameters of 508 mm, 610 mm, and 760 mm. Independent or synchronized centering allows the coils to be positioned correctly before processing.
This configuration is particularly useful for demanding industrial coil processing applications where stable coil feeding is essential.

The slitting machine is one of the key sections of the production line. It divides the processed steel coil into multiple strips according to the required width.
For the ZT-9X1300 automatic slitting and cut-to-length line, the supplied technical specification indicates:
Material width: 800–1300 mm
Material thickness: 1.4–9 mm
Slitting speed: 25–40 m/min
Minimum strip width: 50 mm
Slitting width precision: ±0.1 mm
Knife pivot diameter: 280 mm
Blade material: H13K
Blade hardness: HRC 58–60°
The number of slitting strips can be configured according to material thickness, from multiple strips for thinner material to fewer strips for thicker steel.
The slitting section uses two knife shafts and a hydraulic pushing structure. The knife shafts are designed for convenient blade replacement, while the adjustable blade and spacer configuration allows the machine to accommodate different strip-width requirements.

During slitting, the unwanted edge material is removed from both sides of the processed coil. The scrap winder collects these narrow scrap strips into rolls, helping keep the production area organized and supporting continuous operation.
This design also prevents loose scrap material from interfering with downstream straightening and cutting operations.
After slitting, the material passes through the straightening section to correct unevenness and improve flatness before fixed-length cutting.
The line uses different straightening configurations according to material thickness. The supplied design includes:
Straightener 1: 110 kW DC motor, designed for 4–9 mm material
Straightener 2: 75 kW DC motor, designed for 1.4–4 mm material
The first straightener uses 11 working rollers with a diameter of 150 mm, while the second uses 17 working rollers with an 85 mm diameter, together with supporting rollers for improved leveling performance.
The roller gap can be adjusted according to the material requirements, helping achieve consistent sheet flatness before the cutting stage.

Once the material has been leveled, the PLC fixed-length control device controls the cutting process automatically.
The system uses a coding and measuring device together with a rotary encoder to monitor material movement. PLC control enables automatic fixed-length cutting and quantity counting, helping manufacturers produce sheets according to predetermined dimensions.
The supplied configuration specifies a length tolerance of approximately ±1.5 mm at a 2 m sheet length, with a diagonal tolerance of ±2 mm at 2 m. Straightening precision is specified at approximately ±1 mm.
After slitting, straightening, and processing, the production line can guide the material through the loop and tension stand to the hydraulic recoiler.
The hydraulic recoiler is designed with an expandable mandrel for a 610 mm inner diameter and supports steel coils weighing up to 20 tons. A hydraulic pressing arm and supporting arm help maintain stable and even rewinding during operation.
For cut sheets, the X-shape lifting receiving roller table collects finished products after cutting and can handle finished sheets from approximately 1000 to 6000 mm in length.

The electrical control system centralizes operation of the complete production line. Operators can switch between linkage and manual operation modes, allowing the entire line to work synchronously or individual sections to be controlled separately.
The supplied configuration includes:
Siemens PLC
MCGS touch screen
590C DC controller
Japanese encoder
ZhengTai electrical components
Hydraulic control components
Centralized electrical control cabinet
Emergency-stop buttons are installed on the operating panels to improve operational safety.

The ability to configure slitting widths and fixed cutting lengths makes the line suitable for production environments handling different customer orders and material dimensions.
Every coil processing factory has different requirements for material thickness, coil weight, finished strip width, sheet length, production speed, and factory layout. Therefore, the configuration of a Combination Slitting and Cut to Length Line can be adapted to the customer's production requirements.
ZTRFM can provide customized solutions covering coil handling, slitting, leveling, straightening, fixed-length cutting, recoiling, hydraulic systems, electrical controls, and material handling equipment.
For customers looking for a complete solution rather than individual machines, an integrated slitting and CTL production line can simplify the entire coil processing workflow while improving production consistency and operational efficiency.

A Combination Slitting and Cut to Length Line combines multiple essential coil processing operations into one continuous system. With heavy-duty coil handling, precision slitting, multi-stage straightening, PLC-controlled fixed-length cutting, and automatic recoiling or sheet receiving, the equipment provides a flexible solution for modern metal processing plants.
For manufacturers processing medium- to heavy-gauge steel coils and requiring both accurate slitting and precise cut-to-length production, the ZT-9X1300 configuration offers a comprehensive industrial processing solution.
