The High Speed Metal Slitting Line is an automated coil processing system developed for manufacturers that need to divide wide metal coils into multiple narrow strips with stable accuracy and reliable rewinding performance. The complete line combines decoiling, leveling, slitting, scrap winding, tension control, and recoiling into one continuous production process.
It is suitable for processing carbon steel, galvanized steel (GI), and pre-painted galvanized steel (PPGI) with material thicknesses from 0.3 to 0.8 mm and a maximum coil width of 1250 mm. In addition to longitudinal slitting, the equipment can also operate as a cut-to-length machine, providing greater flexibility for different metal processing requirements.

The steel coil slitting machine is configured as an integrated production line rather than a single slitting unit. The incoming coil is first loaded onto a 6-ton electric decoiler, then guided through the leveling and slitting sections before being separated, tensioned, and rewound.
The main components include:
6-ton electric decoiler
Feeding and guiding system
Coil leveling unit
Precision slitting unit
Hydraulic cross-cutting system
Scrap edge winder
Strip damping and separation system
6-ton hydraulic recoiler
Hydraulic loading car
Hydraulic station
Delta PLC control system
This integrated configuration reduces unnecessary manual handling and allows the entire coil processing operation to be controlled through one production line.

The production process begins with a 6-ton electric decoiler designed to support the master coil and provide controlled material feeding.
The decoiler uses automatic motor transmission together with a mechanical press arm. This configuration helps maintain stable coil feeding and reduces the possibility of material deformation during unwinding.
The supported coil inner diameter is 450–550 mm, making the decoiler suitable for the specified range of steel coils used by the production line.
Before slitting, the metal strip passes through the leveling section.
The machine is equipped with 8 upper leveling rollers and 9 lower leveling rollers. The leveling rollers straighten the material and reduce the curvature created during coil winding.
The frame uses welded 350H steel, while the main shafts are manufactured from 45# steel. After heat treatment and hard chrome processing, the shafts provide improved durability for continuous production.

A stable leveling process is important because the quality of the incoming strip directly affects slitting accuracy and the final coil shape.
The slitting unit is equipped with 12 pairs of slitting blades, allowing the master coil to be divided into multiple narrower strips according to the required production width.
The blades are manufactured from Cr12MoV, providing suitable hardness and wear resistance for continuous metal coil processing.
The blade arrangement can be adjusted according to the customer's required strip widths. This allows the same machine to handle different production orders without requiring a completely separate slitting system.
The main slitting shaft is a 50 mm solid shaft, providing stable support for the blade assembly during operation.

During longitudinal slitting, narrow edge material is generated as scrap. The integrated scrap winder collects this material instead of allowing loose strips to accumulate around the production area.
The scrap winding system uses two 2 kW torque motors and a guiding mechanism to organize the waste strips during operation.
It is particularly designed for edge scrap with widths of approximately 20 mm or less.
This arrangement helps maintain a cleaner working area while making scrap collection and subsequent handling more convenient.
After the material is slit, the separated strips pass through the damping and separation section before entering the 6-ton hydraulic recoiler.
The recoiler winds the individual strips into finished coils while maintaining appropriate winding tension. Adjustable tension is particularly important when processing thin-gauge steel because insufficient tension can result in loose or irregularly formed coils.
The recoiler is equipped with:
6-ton loading capacity
1400 mm shaft length
450–610 mm recoiler coil ID
Hydraulic drive system
Hydraulic loading car
The loading car uses a V-shaped lifting platform to assist with removing and transferring finished coils from the recoiler.
A dedicated damping system is positioned before the recoiler to help separate the slit strips and establish suitable back tension.
The damping section includes a:
Pre-separation shaft
Arch structure
Pressure shaft
Pneumatic damping mechanism
Felt pads
Operators can manually adjust the tension according to the material and production conditions.
Proper tension control helps improve strip separation and contributes to more orderly finished coils, especially when working with relatively thin metal materials.

The metal coil slitting line uses a Delta PLC, inverter, and touchscreen control panel to manage the main production functions.
Operators can set parameters such as:
Cutting length
Production quantity
Operating parameters
Length correction
The system provides automatic length measurement and quantity counting, while the touchscreen allows operators to make adjustments during production.
A foot pedal with an extended cable is also provided for convenient start and pause operation.
The material entry section incorporates vertical side rollers to help maintain proper alignment before the coil enters the leveling and slitting system.
One of the practical features of this steel coil processing line is its ability to perform different processing operations.
When narrow strips are required, the machine can operate in its normal slitting and recoiling mode.
When the customer needs flat sheets instead of slit coils, the equipment can switch to cut-to-length mode. In this configuration, the slitting and recoiling functions can be stopped, while the main slitting shaft can be lifted away from the material path.

This means one production line can serve both coil slitting and sheet cutting requirements without requiring completely independent equipment.
The High Speed Metal Slitting Line can be used in various metal processing industries where wide master coils need to be converted into narrower strips or fixed-length sheets.
Typical applications include:
Steel service centers
Metal coil processing companies
Roofing material manufacturers
Wall and panel manufacturers
Construction material producers
Downstream roll forming production
General sheet metal processing
The machine can process:
Carbon steel coils
Galvanized steel coils
PPGI coils
Thin-gauge metal coils
Materials requiring slitting and cut-to-length processing
For manufacturers processing thin and medium-width steel coils, the machine provides several practical advantages.
Integrated Production:
Decoiling, leveling, slitting, scrap winding, tension control, cutting, and recoiling are combined into one production line.
Flexible Processing:
The equipment can perform longitudinal slitting as well as independent cut-to-length processing.
Stable Slitting:
The 50 mm solid slitting shaft and Cr12MoV blades provide stable support for continuous slitting operations.
Controlled Rewinding:
The hydraulic recoiler and damping system help maintain more consistent strip tension and coil formation.
PLC Automation:
The Delta PLC and touchscreen control system simplify parameter setting, measurement, counting, and operation.
Reduced Manual Handling:
Automated coil feeding, scrap collection, and finished-coil handling help improve the overall production workflow.

The High Speed Metal Slitting Line provides a practical solution for manufacturers that need to process wide steel coils into narrow strips or accurately cut sheets. With a maximum material width of 1250 mm, thickness range of 0.3–0.8 mm, 12 pairs of slitting blades, a 6-ton decoiler, and a 6-ton hydraulic recoiler, the line is designed for flexible coil processing.
Its combination of precision slitting, leveling, scrap winding, tension control, hydraulic recoiling, and PLC automation makes it suitable for steel service centers, roofing manufacturers, panel producers, and other downstream metal processing applications.
For customers who need both coil slitting and sheet cutting capabilities, the optional cut-to-length operating mode further increases the versatility of the production line.
