    950 Glazed Tile Line Forming

This process forms a single-layer glazed step tile on the 950 cover code. Coil of 0.3-0.8 mm is fed at about 1200 mm to produce about 950 mm of cover, with a pitch of about 190 mm and a crown of about 27 mm, and the transverse step is pressed hydraulically in the line at a spacing adjustable over about 150-380 mm. The host runs about 13 stands on a Φ80 mm shaft with chain drive, on a 5.5 kW main motor and a 5.5 kW hydraulic station.

    Operation steps

    Uncoiling

    Uncoiling

The coil is paid off the decoiler with the painted face kept to the side the roof will show, so the finished tile presents the correct surface.

    Guide feeding

    Guide feeding

The strip is guided onto the machine centre line, and levelled where the build includes it, so the panel runs true along its length and the side laps finish square.

    Roll forming the longitudinal ribs

    Roll forming the longitudinal ribs

The strip passes through about 13 driven stands, each adding part of the bend, building the longitudinal rib and the outer profile without breaking the coating.

Hydraulic pressing of the tile steps

Hydraulic pressing of the tile steps

A hydraulic press stamps the tile pattern across the running panel at the step interval; this is the stage that turns a ribbed sheet into a tile, and the stage that makes the line work in cycles.

    Cutting to length

    Cutting to length

The panel is cut to the ordered length on the hydraulic shear, whose cutter package (guide-post or mid-plate) is fixed with the cover code.

    Discharge and first-off check

    Discharge and first-off check

Finished tiles leave on the exit table; the first piece of each batch is checked against the signed section drawing before the run continues.

    FAQ

Can this line run 828 or 840 as well?
No. Each cover code has its own roll set, number of stands and power package; a different code means a separate machine quotation.
Are 950 and 950 Arc the same machine?
No. Both have a cover width of 950, but 950 has a pitch of about 190, a crown height of about 27 and about 13 stands; 950 Arc has a pitch of about 158.3, a crown height of about 33 and about 18 stands, and its roll set is dedicated. The same cover width does not mean the same tile profile drawing.
    Is the step pitch fixed?
The transverse tile step (pitch) is adjustable from about 150–380 mm; the pitch and crown height are fixed by the tile profile drawing.
    Does this process include punching?
No. The machine's standard configuration has no in-line punching station; punching of ridge pieces belongs to the ridge line.
