Glazed Roof Tile Roll Forming Machines: Profiles and Selection

    1August 28, 2026
828 and 950 glazed tile lines each have their own rolls and motor list. Named builds: 828 ~3+5.5 kW / 11 stands; 950 ~5.5+5.5 kW / 13 stands. Ridge cap and triple-layer roof are separate machines.
Keywords: glazed tile machine · glazed roof tile roll forming · 828 glazed tile · 950 glazed tile

    1. One keyword, many cover codes

Buyers search “glazed tile machine” and expect one line. In practice each cover code — 828, 950, 780, 840, 970, 1100 — carries its own feed width, formed cover, pitch and crown. Rolls from an 828 build will not produce a 950 panel by changing the HMI recipe.

This page covers single-layer glazed hosts. Ridge cap and triple-layer roof have their own encyclopedias.

    2. What a glazed tile section is

A glazed (step) tile is a formed sheet with a repeating step / crown along the length and a fixed cover width across the panel. Coil is fed wider than the finished cover; side trim and flower geometry pull the blank down to the named cover. Thickness on named glazed files commonly sits in the ~0.3–0.8 mm band — confirm grade and coating on the drawing, not from a generic “tile” keyword.

Step length is often adjustable on arc-style glazed lines. Pitch and crown are profile constants for that code; changing cover without changing rolls is not a recipe switch.

    3. 828 and 950 — separate builds

828 also has a variant B (828B) on a second parameter sheet: same 828 mm cover and feed, but crown ~25 mm (not ~30), 13 stands (not 11). If your order or drawing says “828 (2)” or shows the lower crown, that is the 828B variant — not the main 828 build.

Cover codeFeed → formedPitch / crownBuild / power (on that quotation)
    828 glazed tileFeed ~1000 mm → formed ~828 mmPitch ~207 mm; crown ~30 mm~11 stands, φ70; host ~3 kW + hyd ~5.5 kW; form ~8–12 / work ~3–5.5 m/min
    828B (variant B)Feed ~1000 mm → formed ~828 mmPitch ~207 mm; crown ~25 mm~13 stands, φ70; host ~3 kW + hyd ~5.5 kW; same speed class as 828
    950 glazed tileFeed ~1200 mm → formed ~950 mmPitch ~190 mm; crown ~27 mm~13 stands, φ80; host ~5.5 kW + hyd ~5.5 kW; form ~8–12 / work ~3–5.5 m/min

If the inquiry only says “glazed tile,” ask which cover width and which parameter file. An 828 roll set will not produce a 950 panel.

    4. Other cover codes in the same family

The catalogue also lists 780 / 840 / 970 / 1100 as separate codes. Each needs its own quotation: feed, cover, pitch, crown and motor list come from that code’s drawing. Each code keeps its own numbers — they are not averaged.

    5. Motor and stand count stay with the code

The 828 / 828B / 950 rows above already carry host kW, hyd kW, stands and shaft for those named builds. Other cover codes (780, 840, 970, 1100) have their own parameter sheets — ask for the matching sheet on the offer before comparing motors.

    6. What this mill is not

    • Ridge cap — a separate accessory line, not the glaze host.
    • Triple-layer roof — three decks on one frame; see the triple-layer wiki.
    • Corrugated / trapezoid single-skin — different flower and often different thickness bands.
    • Standing-seam or lock roof — seam geometry and seamer duty are outside glazed step-tile scope.

    7. Send the code and the drawing

    1. Cover code (828, 828B, 950, 780, 840, 970, 1100, …) and the matching parameter sheet if known
    2. Finished section: feed width, cover, pitch, crown, step range
    3. Thickness and grade within the ~0.3–0.8 mm class used on named files
    4. Coil coating and paint face; whether emboss / texture is required
    5. Cut: stop-cut vs flying; stacker length
    6. Whether ridge cap is a separate order
    7. Site power and HMI languages

    8. Buyer FAQ

Can one mill run both 828 and 950 glazed tile?

Only if the quotation is written as a multi-code or changeover package with separate roll sets. Default builds are code-specific.

    828 or 828B?

Same 828 mm cover. Main 828: crown ~30 mm, ~11 stands. 828B (second parameter file): crown ~25 mm, ~13 stands. Match the drawing crown before locking rolls.

Is step length fixed on 828?

On arc lines, step is often adjustable — confirm the band on the arc-line quotation. Pitch (~207 mm) and crown stay with that profile drawing.

Does the glazed host include ridge caps?

No. Order ridge cap as a sibling line if the plant needs matching ridge.

Is triple-layer roof the same family?

No. Triple-layer is a multi-deck neighbor. Glazed codes remain single-layer families on this page.

Section sizes, speeds and kW above come from the named 828, 828B and 950 parameter files. Other cover codes need their own sheets. Ridge and triple-layer numbers are not mixed into this host.
