Open Floor Deck 914 Roll Forming

This page covers open floor deck forming as it is built for one cover width - about 914 mm out of about 1250 mm of coil. The deck sheet is the permanent formwork for a concrete floor and stays in the slab as decking reinforcement. The numbers below are the working figures for this build: strip 0.8-1.2 mm, about 28 stands on a Ø90 mm shaft, chain drive, hydraulic cut-to-length shear, about 8-10 m/min. Closed deck and roof sheeting are different processes on different roll flowers.

    Operation steps

    Decoiling

    Decoiling

The steel coil is loaded on the 5 t manual decoiler at the head of the line and the strip is paid out to the infeed.

    Forming

    Forming

The strip runs through about 28 driven stands on a Ø90 mm shaft, each stand adding one part of the bend until the open deck section is closed to shape.

    Hydraulic cut-to-length

    Hydraulic cut-to-length

The hydraulic shear cuts the formed deck to the ordered length; the length recipe is set at the control panel.

    Outfeed and first-off check

    Outfeed and first-off check

The cut sheets run out onto the outfeed support; the first sheet is checked against the signed section drawing before the batch is run.

    Key details

    Power & voltage

This is an open floor deck machine: the ribs are open on the underside. Closed deck (the 600 class) is a different roll flower with more stands - it is not a setting on this machine. Cover width follows the roll set, not a parameter on the control panel - about 1250 mm of coil gives about 914 mm of effective cover, and another cover width is a separate build confirmed against your drawing. This build has no in-line punching station; the in-line cut is a hydraulic shear. If your drawing needs holes, say so on the inquiry. Not another speed tier: the 23+31 stand / path brake / 240 V/60 Hz figures on the double-layer deck process page on this site are a different machine, not this one; the high-speed gearbox build is not covered on this page either. Drive: chain drive.

    FAQ

Can the line change to another cover width?
Cover width follows the roll set. Another cover width is quoted as its own build against your drawing - it is not a control-panel setting on this line.
Is punching part of the process?
No in-line punching station is fitted on this build; the in-line cut is a hydraulic cut-to-length shear. Holes, if your drawing needs them, are a separate item to be confirmed.
Does the line make roof sheet?
No. Roof sheet is a covering profile with its own roll flower, formed on a roof panel line.
