A cold bending line built for thick grade plate, with an upgraded frame, drive and transmission for continuous high load production.

This machine is a cold bending equipment designed specifically for processing thick grade plates, typically 1.5 mm to 3.0 mm and even thicker. Compared with standard models it carries comprehensive upgrades in frame strength, power system and transmission stability, so production precision is held under continuous high load conditions.
The line runs from the decoiler through the roll forming stations to the punching and cutting station, and on to the run out table with automatic stacking. The machine body is metal steel welded, the drive is by chains transmission, and the station count is set by the required profile.
Built For Thick Plate
Thick plate puts significant resistance into the forming process, so the frame, power system and transmission of this machine are specified above those of a standard model. It is intended for continuous high load production of heavy purlin sections rather than light gauge trim.
Superior Frame Structure
The machine body is a welded metal steel structure. Heavy duty machines of this class use thick walled square tubes or large H beams as the main vertical columns and are stress relieved by full annealing treatment, which prevents the body from deforming when the forming load is applied.
High Power Drive System
The main motor is rated 15 kW with a 5.5 kW hydraulic system. The drive is arranged to deliver low speed high torque output, which keeps the line forming steadily in thick plate instead of stalling, and the transmission is by chains transmission with heavy duty reducers.
High Precision Rollers And Shafts
The core rollers are made of GCr15 bearing steel, quenched and tempered and then chrome plated for high hardness and wear resistance. The rolls run on 80 mm solid shafts in 45# steel with quenching and tempering, which maintains coaxiality over long term operation.
Twelve Roll Forming Stations
The line carries 12 roller stations, with the station count and the roll profiles set by the section that has to be produced. Each station is bolted to the bed and the roll gap is adjusted by the threaded columns above the housings.
Automatic Cutting
Cutting is automatic and the cutter is made of Cr12MoV material, giving a clean cut without scratches and without deformation of the section. Length is set from the control panel along with the batch and the quantity.
PLC Control System
The PLC runs automatic production of the whole machine and allows the batch, the length and the quantity to be set. The control language is English and multiple languages are supported, and the electric box is customized.
Hydraulic Automatic Decoiler
The coil is carried on a hydraulic automatic decoiler at the entry end of the line, and a manual decoiler is supplied free of charge with the machine.

The supplier drawing also lists section properties for each of these sections, including Ix and Zx values, radii of gyration and the shear centre and centroid positions. Ask for the full property sheet if you need to check the sections against a structural design.

The line follows the usual order: coil handling, forming, punching and cutting, then run out and stacking. The cutting end carries the automatic cutter, the control cabinet with its touch screen and the hydraulic power pack.
The roll forming stations are bolted along the bed, each one with its own die housing and threaded adjustment column above. The forming rolls run on heavy shafts carried in bearing blocks.
Punching is carried out in the press frames between the forming stations and the cutter, with the die blocks and die springs visible in the frames.
Along the drive side of the bed the stations are linked by chains and sprockets, with the main gearbox driving the roll shafts.
At the exit end the run out table carries the finished purlin away, and the stacking equipment lifts and stacks the sections in bundles ready for packing.
