The Pallet Rack Roll Forming Machine is an automated production line developed for manufacturing steel shelf panels and related components used in warehouse storage and pallet racking systems. The line combines coil decoiling, leveling, punching, servo feeding, roll forming, edge bending, shearing, and folding into a continuous production process.
Unlike a conventional forming line that relies mainly on hydraulic positioning, this equipment uses servo-controlled feeding, forming, shearing, and folding to improve positioning accuracy throughout production. It is designed for steel coils with a thickness of 0.4–0.7 mm and can produce shelf panels in widths of 410, 510, 610, and 710 mm.

The machine can also be customized according to the customer's panel drawings, punching patterns, dimensions, and production requirements.
The complete production line follows a coordinated process:
5T Hydraulic Decoiler → Leveling → Pre-Punching → Servo Feeding → Roll Forming → Side-Edge Bending → Servo Shearing → Front-Edge Folding → Rear-Edge Folding → 2 m Receiving Table
The line uses two front punching stations with two sets of mold bases and molds. The punching section supports material widths of up to 1200 mm, while the servo feeder can reach a feeding speed of approximately 15–30 m/min.
After punching, the material enters the forming section and passes through 20 forming stations. The rollers progressively shape the steel strip before the downstream shearing and folding units complete the shelf panel.

This integrated configuration reduces manual handling and allows the different production stages to operate under centralized PLC control.
For manufacturers producing shelf panels machine products, accurate dimensions and stable geometry are essential. The machine is designed for a diagonal tolerance of approximately ±1 mm at a panel length of 2500 mm, while the length tolerance can reach approximately ≤1 mm for lengths up to 3 m.
To support stable forming, the main and auxiliary side plates use ductile iron casting and undergo CNC drilling, tapping, and milling. The integrated machining process helps improve the rigidity and alignment of the forming structure.
The transmission side of the lower rollers uses two sets of tapered roller bearings, while the operating side uses one set. This bearing arrangement helps maintain roller alignment and reduces shaking during continuous operation.
The forming shafts are manufactured from 45# steel with a diameter of Φ50 mm. They undergo quenching and tempering, lathe processing, and fine grinding to provide a stable working surface for the forming rollers.

The main roll former contains 20 forming stations and uses gear transmission. A 5.5 kW servo motor drives the forming system, allowing the machine to coordinate material movement with the downstream processes.
The forming rollers use Cr12MoV material and undergo vacuum heat treatment and two tempering processes. Their hardness reaches approximately HRC55–58, which provides good wear resistance for long-term production.
The driving rollers use gear transmission together with a hard-tooth-surface reduction gearbox. Meanwhile, the pinch rollers in the feeding system receive high-frequency treatment and hard chrome coating to improve durability and maintain stable material feeding.
For different shelf designs, the punching molds and forming rollers can be manufactured according to the customer's drawings. Therefore, the same production concept can be applied to different rack panel roll forming machine configurations.

Before entering the punching and forming sections, the steel coil passes through a hydraulic decoiler and leveling machine.
The decoiler provides a 5-ton loading capacity and supports a maximum uncoiling width of 1200 mm. It is designed for coils with an inner diameter of approximately 450–550 mm.
The leveling section contains 6 upper rollers and 7 lower rollers. The inverter-controlled system helps regulate the material feeding speed and prepares the steel strip for accurate punching and forming.
Proper leveling is especially important when processing relatively thin material. By reducing coil deformation before forming, the system helps maintain consistent panel dimensions throughout production.
After the roll forming section, the machine performs the final cutting and edge-processing operations. The line includes two stations for back punching side-ear holes, together with two mold bases and corresponding molds.

The servo shearing and flanging system controls the cutting and folding movements electronically. It can process the front and rear edges of the panel while maintaining coordinated positioning with the forming line.
The cutting blades are manufactured from GCr12 and undergo quenching treatment to improve service life.
Compared with conventional hydraulic cutting and flanging systems, servo-controlled positioning provides better control over the movement of the workpiece. This is particularly useful when producing shelf panels that require consistent front and rear edge dimensions.

This pallet racking machine is mainly designed for producing shelf panels and related components used in warehouse storage systems, industrial shelving, and pallet rack structures.
Manufacturers can configure the line for different shelf panel dimensions and hole patterns. The punching section creates the required connection holes before the material enters the roll forming section, while the forming rollers create the required structural profile.
For a complete pallet rack manufacturing facility, the machine can also work alongside other specialized equipment. For example, a pallet rack bracing channel forming machine can produce bracing channels, while other roll forming lines can manufacture rack beams, uprights, and additional structural components.
This modular approach allows manufacturers to gradually establish a complete storage rack production system according to their product range.

The production line uses a Mitsubishi PLC for centralized automatic control. A SINE inverter manages speed regulation, while Inovance servo drives and motors control the precision movements of the production line.
The operator interface combines a touchscreen with physical buttons. The control system supports automatic length and quantity measurement and includes several protection functions, such as material-shortage shutdown, production counting, output-limit shutdown, emergency stop, mold-jam detection, and limit protection.
The electrical configuration can include Schneider low-voltage components, OMRON counters, IDEC relays, and Xinjie touchscreen controls. The system supports Chinese, English, and Russian interfaces for international operation.

Different warehouse storage manufacturers often use different shelf structures, dimensions, hole patterns, and edge configurations. Therefore, the shelf panel roll forming machine can be customized rather than being limited to a fixed standard profile.
Before manufacturing, customers can provide their product drawings and specify the required material thickness, panel width, punching pattern, finished length, production speed, and edge structure. Based on these requirements, the forming rollers, punching molds, and control parameters can be configured accordingly.
With its servo-controlled production process, rigid machine construction, precision-machined components, and integrated punching and forming operations, this pallet rack roll forming machine provides an efficient solution for manufacturers producing steel shelf panels and components for modern warehouse racking systems.
